After a few days away, it was straight back to work this week — and the beautiful weather made it easy to step outside and get moving again.
We got stuck into the patch, clearing and cleaning up beds, making space and setting things right for what’s next.
There’s something satisfying about restoring order after a busy season, and with the sun out, it didn’t feel like a chore at all.
At long last, a good amount of sauce tomatoes are coming through.
With that, the kitchen has come alive again — pots gently simmering away as we turn them into passata.
It’s one of those simple but deeply rewarding jobs, preserving the harvest and capturing the flavour of the season for months to come.
Another round of winter veggies has gone into the ground, and we’re well on our way to setting ourselves up for the cooler months ahead.
It’s always a bit of a shift — from harvesting and preserving to thinking ahead and planting for what’s next — but that’s the rhythm we’ve come to love.
