Birthday Celebrations

Last Saturday we had a good reason to celebrate!
After a few solid practice rounds with our wood-fired pizza oven, it was finally time to feed a crowd — and what better excuse than Jamie’s 40th birthday?
We combined the two and threw a party with almost 40 guests and (fittingly!) around 40 pizzas.
Becky made a stunning cake that topped off an already amazing evening.
It was such a fun night that we can’t wait to start offering pizza nights here at the Barn!
The rest of the week was a bit more low-key but still full of action — plenty of sowing out and pricking out, a bit of weeding in the cottage garden, and a clean-up session in the small greenhouse.
The wind kept us on our toes, so some jobs were tackled under shelter.
Our next Patch to Plate dinner is tomorrow — and it’s booked out!
It’s always such a joy to cook for a full house and see so many familiar and new faces around the table.
Seedlings are ready to go: silverbeet, lettuce, kohlrabi, beetroot, spinach, and a couple of tomato varieties are all thriving.
More to come as the season progresses!
Our freezer has also been refilled with local beef from Old Township Farm. A range of cuts is available — just ask when you’re at the Barn.
Barn open tomorrow, from 11–5
We are serving:
Coffee & Cake
Pasta Pesto Bake
Pumpkin Feta Quiche
Veggie Soup
See you at the Barn
