From Pies to Potatoes: A Big Week in the Patch

After an amazing pie night last Saturday, the saga continued in full force out in the patch. This week was all about planting, mulching and—believe it or not—watering!
The greenhouse still isn’t empty, but the patch is looking wonderfully full as everything slowly finds its place in the soil.
One of the biggest jobs was getting our seed potatoes in. Around 120kg went into the ground—thirty rows, each 25 metres long.
A huge task on its own, and now they’re all waiting for a generous layer of mulch.
Speaking of mulching, we’ve reached out on our socials for some voluntary help. If you’re keen to lend a hand, have a look at the listed time slots and requirements on the socials. Every bit of help is deeply appreciated.
By Friday afternoon things warmed up more than expected. Our bodies clearly weren’t quite ready for that level of warmth—the sun felt fierce and the bones were a little tired.
So we shifted inside and cooked up a storm to be ready for the weekend’s trade. Sometimes a change of scenery is just what’s needed!
