Same Same, just a little Fuller!

It may have been a shorter week for some, but out here it felt very much like business as usual.
Our regular Monday trip into Warrnambool turned into a bit of a mission this week — a few extra errands added in to make the most of the drive.
Living out in the country, the kilometres add up quickly, and with fuel prices sitting where they are, it pays to be mindful and make each trip count.
The rest of the week unfolded at home, in that steady rhythm we know well.
There’s been plenty of preserving — jars of tomato chutney lining the bench — alongside cooking, general garden maintenance, and homeschooling woven through the days.
Full, but good.
On Friday was a kitchen day. We’ve been preparing food for the weekend and trialling something new for next week’s Patch to Plate dessert — a caramel flan.
Making caramel always asks for a bit of focus… watching sugar and water slowly transform, waiting for that perfect golden moment and catching it before it tips too far. This time, we got it just right. (So far, so good.)
