Weathering the Dry – Together

Following on from last week’s visit by the judges, we had the photographer come out to the patch this week to capture some images and footage for the upcoming awards night.
It’s all starting to feel very real now!
The Corangamite Shire Business Awards will be held at the Royal Theatre in Camperdown on June 18 at 6:30pm.
Tickets are on sale now – it would be lovely to see some familiar faces there.
This week brought us a little bit of rain, and while it wasn’t much, we’re grateful for every single drop.
As many of you know, we wear more than one hat around here – and wearing the dairy farmer one has been especially heavy lately. The ongoing dry weather is taking a toll. Financially, emotionally, physically.
It’s not just a news story – it’s real, it’s here, and it’s affecting your neighbours, your local growers, your friends.
And yet, we keep going – thanks to you.
Your support, your visits, your kind words and full baskets mean the world to us.
I’m so thankful for the veggies, for the patch, and for our Saturdays at the barn – they keep us grounded, connected, and hopeful.
Becky and I made a trip up north this week to pick up 700kg of the finest grain and oats from Burrumbiodynamics – a long day, but one that reminded us of the beautiful community of farmers working through these times together.
Free Coffee & Soup Tomorrow
In light of the tough season, we’ll be offering free coffee and soup at the barn this Saturday for anyone doing it tough – farmers or not.
If you’re in need of a warm drink, a hot meal, and a little kindness – we see you.
Open Tomorrow, Saturday from 11–5
We’re serving:
Coffee and cake
Homemade soup & bread (free for those in need)
Pumpkin and Leek Spätzli Bake
Spinach and Pumpkin Slice (GF & vegetarian)
See you at the barn –
with (muddy) boots, warm hearts, and open doors.
